I have been having this issue too. I have tried:
- saving the file as something else
- creating a new file
- linking objects, images, words
- hidden objects
- new layers
- files from desktop, files from the server...
None of these things are working and I have also re-installed InDesign - cleaned out all the preferences too... still no luck. I am also running on Windows 7.

Thank you Michael. Well I think it was a combination of things that I think have now fixed my problem of InDesign crashing when I try to add a new hyperlink.
I uninstalled and used the cleaner like you suggested (Use the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems), but it still would give me the error if I tried to add a new hyperlink.
So then I followed Salah's link (InDesign crashes on launch on Windows) and did that.
And as I was opening InDesign again I realized there are still certain things such as libraries and colors that were still showing up. So even though I'd deleted the preferences before, I did it again. I started InDesign with Control, Alt, Shift held down, said yes to delete preferences and now it's working! Sometimes it's a little slow, and it looks like InDesign is going to quit, but so far it's been working.
So thank you to Michael and Salah!
