I have a workstation pretty much identical to a Mac Pro but with dual Xeons and 64GB memory.
and a Sony A7RII
Browsing through 400/500 images in loupe gets slow, and all I'm trying to do is really rate and reject them.
With the RAWs being 43MB and 241MB uncompressed it takes a second or two to load.
So I'm wondering if there's a more efficient workflow, or a way to stop LR loading the raw, when all I really want to do is check focus etc in a preview version that doesn't have to be full resolution?
What LR module are you using when browsing your images?
Library uses previews if they exist. Develop always recomputes the image from the raw data.
