Version of InDesign? Operating system? Have you just installed InDesign for the first time? What changed on your system that might have caused the crash? What was happening when you experienced the crash?
Version : Indesign CS6
Operating system : OSX 10.11.3
I installed Indesign long time ago. I upgraded my OSX, 2 months ago. I have been using indesign since then without problems. Last week used it continuously, it would hang/ crash once in a while. I thought it would be heavy file or something. Right now after I open it, it crashes within 5 minutes.
I was working on this particular file. I deleted a page in that document and it crashed. The last time i tried deleting pages, it crashed as well. At the moment the frequency of crashing is so high, that no matter what i do, its crashing.
We've been seeing this since the release of El Capitan (Mac OS X 10.11). InDesign CS6 is four years old, is end-of-life, and will receive no more updates. CS6 is not compatible. We see several people a day listing various installation or crashing problems. I'm afraid you'll be on your own if you want to keep El Capitan.
Otherwise, I'd recommend either rolling back to an earlier Mac OS X version or upgrading to Creative Cloud software.
Aside from compatibility issues, it appears to be layer related in some way. I notice you've not run any updates on InDesign (last update for perpetual licenses is 8.0.2), though there is no guarantee that will work any better.
