So, before I start animating I always create temperate characters so I can duplicate them per shot. It takes a bit of prep work, but it's well worth it.
My rigs are able to change the thickness of limbs, change the colour of hair, skin etc. So if I need to mix up characters origins, it's no problem.
The problem I'm having with the latest update, is that when I duplicate the folder, say "Man Shot 00" and re-name to "Man Shot 01" the expressions link back to "Man Shot 00" as oppose to updating to the new duplication.
This means I can't simply edit the character using my controls, as they are referring to the original comp.
I never had this problem with past version of AE.
Has something changed in the software, or is there a box I need to tick somewhere?
Thanks in advance for any help.
What exact version number of After Effects are you using? You say CC16, but CC 2016 hasn't been released and your interface looks like AE version 13.0 or earlier...
Sorry, my mistake. I wrongly assumed the last update was 2016, but it's 2015. I'm using CC (2014?) for now which is where the image was taken.
The duplication of folders containing comps with expressions works fine in CC14.
Well, your CC 2014 isn't up to date at all, so your CC 2015 install might be missing bug fix updates too. Check the version numbers for both of them.
