Moving to InDesign EPUB forum
is this going to help?
this is the entire error message from smashwords:
File 'META-INF/encryption.xml' in EPUB not listed in manifest!
Your .epub file is missing one or more elements in its manifest. A complete manifest is required for distribution to Apple. Here's how Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EPUB) defines "Manifest":"The manifest element lists all the files contained in the package. Each file is represented by an item element, and has the attributes id, href, media-type. All XHTML (content documents), stylesheets, images or other media, embedded fonts, and the NCX file should be listed here."
hmm. so the answer is the same? inDesign only exports epubs, it doesn't edit them, and therefore, you can't see the manifest and its files?
i just need to know.
okay, i found something that works:
NOTE: i tried doing the same runaround/workaround in calibre 3.10 and it did NOT work. for some reason, deleting the fonts from sigil, then re-adding them in sigil, works. call it voodoo.
i found the sigil installer here:
hope this helps the smashwords folks! good luck!
If you open a Fixed Layout ePUB in Sigil and saved it you will break your file. Sigil is not suitable with ePUB FXL.
Try unzip this ePUB file and delete the encryption.xml, after change th extesion to .epub again
Thank you for that tip. I exported a fresh epub from InDesign so it hasn't been through Sigil. What is "unzip this ePUB file"? Another outside program or a utility in AdobeCC?
