Captivate trials are essentially fully functional with the only real restriction being on the time you have to test it.
I've seen other reports related to audio. Not specifically EDITING (or being unable to) but I'm guessing that it could be related. I think Adobe has supplied a DLL that one may need to install to fix things. But I'm not sure if that's a possible thing given you are using the trial.
You should report as a bug and see where Adobe takes it.

Thanks Rick. Will do, BTW, just installed my full version and the same problem exists. We decided to do a full re-install rather than just enter the serial number to see if it would fix the audio edit menu problem. Unfortunately, it did not.
Try editing the audio for the project. Same result?

Did you install Captivate 4 using the Administrator account? I do know that there have been some issues where dll files fail to register, so you might want to try re-installing Captivate using the Admin account rather than a user with Admin rights. If this doesn't solve the problem, then as Rick suggested please report this to the Captivate team.
