    external interface onCloseApplication

I have followed many examples on how to alert when a user is closing a flex application, and I have that part working (attached code is below). But I don't want to send an alert when the user is either closing the window or browsing away from the application. What I am trying to do on close of the application, I need to write a record to the database (we are keeping statistics of how long they are viewing a video we are playing. I thought I had it working, but seems that the window closes before the cfc event is triggered, and nothing gets written. The only way I can get the sql update to take place is to use the pop up. I wouldn't mind using the javascript pop up so much if I could control what the text said, and simply had an OK button, rather than an OK | Cancel option. Any ideas?
