Anything common in the workflow when you get the crash? Any 3rd party plug-ins in use? Any other software in use at the same time? Any anti virus software running, there have been reports with problems with some of the a v software. What version of AE? System details like drive space and ram and graphics drivers may help. Just telling us that the system is crashing does not give us much to go on.
i wonder if the mp3 does it(convert to wav before import). can you test without it? and delete your preferences and media cache pka files etc. those probably survived the uninstall.
AVG's linkscanner and shield crash it too, like Rick said.
was it a windows 7 update? you can roll back updates too. (do this as a last resort)
I have this PC configuration:
Intel, CORE I7-5820K 3.30GHZ
Palit, Pali4GB D5 X GTX980 Super Jetstream R
ASRock X99 WS
Crucial, D432GB 2400
Antec EA-650 Platinum 650W
It happens after having updated the cloud to CC2015 13.7.1 (not after the windows update) All CS6 and CC2014 are deleted and cleaned from the system.
I have C4D running the same time, just open - not rendering. Normally this was no problem - even when rendering. >> tried without C4D open, does not help
Changed the .mp3 into .wav: did not help
Deleted Cash and Roaming App Data: did not help
No extra plug-ins installed yet
It does not keep crashing at a certain point of the timeline, it varies when playing the sequence or scrubbing anywhere.
Do you have any anti virus software running? Did you monkey with the Memory settings in your preferences? How much ram do you have, I'm not understanding your D432GB? What's going on at the certain point in the timeline? Select all layers and press the U key twice and look around that time for keyframes or other changes and start turning things off or reseting values to their default to figure out what may be causing the crash.
thank you for your thoughts. I have Microsoft Security Essentials - no other anti virus
I use time remapping here and there - I will check this next. Your idea on keyframes was a hint for that : ) On the other hand, if time remapping is a function I am paying for - it should work...
It was not the fault of time remapping either and I did not find the reason... But for a view days now tha crashing did not happen again. Anyhow, I say thank you for your suggestions!
