Try inserting a Hair Space before the "n" and apply a negative tracking.

There is a trick to doing what you want.
- Click your Type tool between the drop cap and the letter 'n'.
- Right click and choose Insert Special Character > Other > Non-Joiner
- Now adjust the Kerning value. (Where the arrow is pointing in the screen capture below)
And now you know the secret!!!
No, this is not working. Ther's no special character opt. on Right click
Keep the insertion point blinking in the text to get the option for Special Character.
