I can't determine whether you've posted in the correct forum or not. Is this an InDesign question? Or an Adobe Line (the mobile app) question?
Let me know so I can move it if necessary.
i didn't find the indesign forum so posted here. can you please suggest the correct forum??
Thank you for reply
We need someone with Freehand knowledge for this one... when I copy and paste an Illustrator path it is editable in InDesign with the Direct Selection tool (the white arrow). And you are using the Direct Selection tool?
What is the version of InDesign, what is the version of OS you are using?
Is Adobe Illustrator installed? (You'd need it)
I'd say you first have to convert the FreeHand file to Adobe Illustrator and then copy/paste the path object to InDesign.
If that will work depends on the complexity of the path.
For the conversion process best use Adobe Illustrator CS5 or CS5.1
The functionality that required a ExtendScript jsx file that was installed in older versions was removed in Illustrator CS6.
Alternate paths for conversions:
Export an EPS from FreeHand or write a PostScript file, distill to PDF and open that in Adobe Illustrator.
Export an EPS from FreeHand and try to open that in Adobe Illustrator
Hope that helps,
Check InDesign's Clipboard Handling preference and make sure Prefer PDF When Pasting is unchecked. Illustrator also has a File Handling & Clipboard Preference and when you copy from AI there's the option to set the clipboard to AICB>Preserve Paths. Not sure if Freehand has a clipboard preference.
indesign version is cs6. 2 year back when i copy from freehand to indesign it would be in path but now it is automatically converts into image. the version of os is windows 7
