How can I import a video from Google drive into After effects?

I'm relatively new to after effects and am looking to have a little fun. A friend sent me some footage through google drive and I am having trouble figuring out how to import it into After Effects.  Can anyone help please?

Download it to a folder you want to use for footage and then import it into AE. There's no trick to it, your footage must reside on a local drive or on your Adobe Cloud drive to use in any Adobe app. From what I understand Google Drive will not mirror the cloud storage to your local drive like Dropbox does so until they fix that problem you are probably stuck with downloading. You won't be able to open projects saved to Google drive from your browser either.
