I have created a 33 page book in InDesign and am struggling to print it the way I want it to.
How can I set my printer to print the pages for PERFECTLY-BOUND books? No signatures, just folded pages next to one another.
Page 1 (left page of spread), page 2 (right page of spread), page 3 (back of page 2), page 4 (right page of next spread, on its reverse side), page 5 (back of page 4), etc. ?
Make it a 32 page book - there's no such thing as a 33 page printed book!
Are you printing from your desk-top printer, and is it duplex (double sided printing)?
What's the TPS of your book and the max paper size your printer can print?
Have you tried creating PDFs using the InDesign PDF presets (select High Quality Print for desk top printers, unless you have a profile)?
You can use the built-in Print Booklet module (File > Print Booklet...) to do this. Select 2-up Perfect Bound from the dropdown and set the signature size to 4.
Derek is correct about making this a multiple of 4 pages (though you could add pages, too), and be sure to include blank pages in the print setup dialog.
