Follow the following instructions in that case
With Lightroom closed
Navigate to C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences (Where AppData is a hidden/system folder so you may need to enter the folder name directly into your Explorer address bar or enable hidden/system folders in Explorer folder view options.)
Open the file LightroomPreferences.agprefs
Search for the line Use autobahn=True(Press CTRL+F)
Change it to Use Autobahn=False
Save the File
Thank you for your answer, i'm gonna try right now
this line is already on false
Ccan I ask why you need to go into the preferences? I was thinking it was to do with a graphics card problem from your description.
Just to do the first setup for the folders and files, i just use lightroom 6 for a week ago.
My apologies for not replying sooner, had a family emergency! I presume you can start LR from your description, so have you actually imported anything into LR yet? If if not can you try and see what happens. It doesn't matter what it is it'shuts to see what happens! Then see if you can open the preferences again.
Which version of windows is it by the way?
Thank you, i'm working with windows 7 (x64), i already imported photos, so a few minutes ago i did import some more. Then I tried to open preferences: impossible, LR close again.
Do you get an error message when LR closes? I should have asked this in my last post, and I'm wondering whether as silly as it may seem we need to start again with another catalog just to rule it out, and maybe even reset the existing preferences to their default settings!
I thought we would have sorted to by now after student had similar problem which was sorted quickly, anyway I'll help for as long as I can!
Let me know how a new catalog behaves, Go to File,New Catalog, and follow the instructions from there.
When you return, try to rest the preferences to their default and see if this works.
Stop LR and do the following. Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Users\[yourusername]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\ - note AppData may be hidden by default, but you can type %appdata%\adobe\lightroom into the Start menu search box and you’ should be taken straight to the Lightroom user folder.
In the Preferences folder you will see a file called Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs, just delete it! There could be some others if you have used a previous version of LR, if there is delete these too too so LR doesn't try to uses these to try to create the new one, in case this was a cause? Now restart LR it will recreate the file with the default preferences etc. See what happens!
Good luck and let me know how you do please.
finalement j'ai désinstallé LR puis réinstallé celui-ci et maintenant tout fonctionne, j'ai donc accès à "préférences".
Merci encore pour votre suivi et votre aide.
My next idea was to reinstall, so I'm pleased you have resolved it. Good luck
