A screen capture would be helpful because I'm not sure exactly what you're talking about. You can use the "camera" icon in the edit window to attach a screen capture.

I found it. It was "Fraction" under Open Type. It was checked. It obviously should not be for normal body text. You would think the program could determine when needed?? Turning it on an off seems a bit labor intensive. Thanks again.
Since it's font family specific and since there are thousands to millions of fonts, it's impossible for it to be done automatically. Plus, designers being the way they are won't agree on how it should be applied.
You can include the OpenType features as part of a character style and paragraph style. That will automate the process of applying them, and let each person customize them the way they like.
