Hello…thanks for reading my post.
I’m trying to fix some templates that someone else created. I need to copy the bullet characteristics from one good template and use it in another bad template.
I have two styles that I’m working on. bullet and subbullet. Subbullet is where I need to fix my problem. The good template has a subbullet that I want to copy. In Paragraph style options…bullets and numbering and looking at the bullet character, I see a bullet with a little red u. (see attachment)
What is the u for? and how do I create that?
thanks so much
I figured out my problem... yippee... but I still want to know what the little red u's are and how to make them... thanks
Those fonts are not installed on your system.
Hi Mark: a lowercase "u" maps to a diamond when the font is changed to Wingdings or Zapf Dingbats.
I'd wager that the font dropped off at some point, leaving the "u" behind. It's an easy fix: back in your original screen capture, click on Character Style menu. If there is a bullet character style in there, try it. If it doesn't work, you can make one that will set the font to Wingdings, Dingbats or whatever ornament font you want. It will only impact the bullet and will leave the remainder of the paragraph alone.
