If it still doesn't work, Reboot your computer and then try.

Make sure when you launch Task manager, you are able to see processes running from all user accounts and not with only the current logged in user on machine. Just look for process named "Adobe application Manager" or "AAM Updates Notifier" and close the process. Then try again.
How do I ensure I'm seeing all of them?
Did you shut down the computer completely and started it again?
Yes...that's why I waited to try again this morning...didn't have time to interrupt my work yesterday.
