Is there any way within BC to assign rights to users so they can only edit specific pages and only specific elements within those pages?

I don't think that is possible. I checked the user roles under the site settings, but it doesn't seem to drill down to specific pages or elements.

Careful use of content holders possibly - we have done some sites where the

staff members of the client's company could edit those but not the pages

they were on.

Another option is web app items - they can be assigned for editing to

individuals who a not even admins, and then displayed where needed, again

without giving them access to edit the pages (or even admin access at all)
