There's a bug in the current version of Dreamweaver that omits a couple of classes from the <nav> element.
Select the <nav> element in the Tag selector at the bottom of the Document window. Then use the plus button in the Element display (the blue tab in Live View) to add the following classes to the <nav> element: .navbar and .navbar-default.
I'm glad it's a bug though. The tutorials are super easy to follow and I couldn't figure out why I wasn't matching up to it.
I got it working! Thanks David
I have added these classes. When I resize the viewport (in DW or any browser), at a certain point the entire menu disappears. I thought it was supposed to show the sandwich menu.
My code is almost identical to the Stargazer code. I made 2 changes but even when I remove those to be identical to the Stargazer code, I don't get the sandwich icon. Here is my code; any help would be appreciated! Thanks
I haven't done the Stargazer tutorial, but just looking at your code, it's immediately obvious that you have deleted all the code relating to the sandwich icon.
<nav class="navbar navbar-default">
<!-- Brand and toggle get grouped for better mobile display -->
<button type="button" class="navbar-toggle collapsed" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#defaultNavbar1"><span class="sr-only">Toggle navigation</span><span class="icon-bar"></span><span class="icon-bar"></span><span class="icon-bar"></span></button>
<a class="navbar-brand" href="#">Brand</a></div>
<!-- Collect the nav links, forms, and other content for toggling -->
<div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="defaultNavbar1">
Restore the code I have highlighted in red.
Ah ha! Thanks, that did it!
However, the glitch does exist. It is in the JS code for Bootstrap in 15.2 - 15.0 has the correct Bootstrap.js code - I haven't figured out which lines yet - there's only 200 lines that cause the errors, as well as the non writing of the .navbar navbar-default classes.
Changing those lines and entering the classes fixes everything. Now, where is that error ...
They should put a note by the tutorial, I'm 6 minutes into my Dreamweaver knowledge and searching the forms for a bug that's not mentioned in the tutorial.
