Indesign Pages not starting on 1

I am making a manual for one my company's products and I am having a problem with getting the starting page to start on number one. I am using a template that I have already made and it works great. I have made many other manuals with this template. However, I inserted a few pages before my initial first page in my template. After I did this and applied my A-Master page to the new pages I created, it recognizes the new pages as 6-8. Keep in mind I have a Title, title page, and table of contents. So when it reads the pages, it reads them as the actual page number and not the beginning of my number sequence. After pages 6, 7, and 8, my pages are normal and starts from 1 and continues the sequence like it is suppose to do. I have been trying to figure this out for a couple hours and even deleted and re made my master pages yet this is still happening. Any information to help me figure this out would be greatly appreciated.
