Keywords entered in InDesign are preceded by a semicolon on PDF export (auto-inserted); this semicolon disables search in Mac; how to stop auto-insertion?

I am attempting to set up a searchable database of used image numbers in my InDesign documents using keywords. I can enter and export the keywords to Acrobat successfully, but InDesign automatically adds a semicolon to the beginning of the keyword string in the PDF, even though I did not type one in. This semicolon disables my ability to search on a Mac for any keywords in that PDF. When I go into the PDF and delete the semicolon manually and resave, I can then search for the keyword successfully. How can I keep InDesign from adding this semicolon to the beginning of the string?

      Thanks, appreciate any help.
