    Smart recordset paging

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

There are many custom tags that provide recordset paginf functionality, and it's fairly easy to write on yourself. The problem with them is that in order to display all the page numbers with appropriate links, you need to return all the records.

What I want is to return ONLY the results that are going to be displayed on that page. I intend to do this by starting the records on a page where the last page left off (based on the sort order), and only returning TOP 10 results. The problem is that the recordset won't contain the data I need for the paging.

      Any ideas?

so you just want a PREV - NEXT type of scenario?
Read a URL variable and add / subtract 10 from it to create a hyperlink to the PREV and NEXT. Use this value as the startrow for the query and the maxrow is already 10 in your case.
Not sure if this is what you were looking for?
