As your screen shot shows, you have not the correct language.
If you have installed InDesign with Arabic support (you can do it via the CC Desktop Application) you have to adapt:
- Your document must have right binding (New Document or Document Setup)
- Your story and columns must be Right To Left (RTL), best is to set it up in Object Styles.
- Your Paragraph must have several changes regarding language, justification (use Adobe World Composers!), text direction, numbers, etc. Best practice here is to set up correct Paragraph Styles.
- You need character styles for different direction like URLs, proper names in latin or cyrillic, etc.
This I have written. But it is not a good idea to do it without a Paragraph Style. Such things have to be saved in Paragraph Styles.
yeah...I've seen that after press "send" button
I recommend as well using paragraph and character styles but think in this case it's enough.
Copy has been provided as arabic so these options should be enough.
I think in InDesign EVERY text has to be formatted with Paragraph Styles. It is even more important if the text direction is involved. Most production problems occur with documents created without styles. Style making cost not much work and time and you need to do it only once. You can use it later again. Import them from older documents or from styles in a CC Library or in INDL Library.
If you work without styles you have to remember and apply several hundred settings for each paragraph you want to apply the same format. Useless to say, no one will remember it in its completeness.
Thank you very much! I "updated" my InDesign CC version to a new one, supporting arabic language and now it works! FINALLY I can also see the "Paragraph direction" icons!
I will do the same with photoshop and illustrator
