Chcking a text member's editable property allows users to select text
copy (and delete and paste)
For something more specialized like a read only text copy, you might be
able to get away with copyMemberToClipboard, which provides a
representation of text members that can be pasted into some applications.
If pasting into an app doesn't quite work right, one could copy a
portion of a text member to a field member, then copy the feld member to

I made my text member editable and the user can now select the text but copying doesn't work properly. In safari, when you select the text and go to Edit -> Copy, the text in director will get deleted and replaced with a C. Paste yeilds nothing. In IE, after selecting the text, Copy in the Edit menu is grayed out (unable to be selected by the user)
see where the copyMemberToClipboard takes you, you can identify a user
selection range in an editable member, having a lingo copy command copy
the hilited range of text to an off screen member, then copy that entire
member to lipboard.
