I have an after effects project (HD 1080p) and I need to export it for Ipad air 2 retina.
When I use the preset in the adobe media encoder (ipad 2,3,4, mini…) and i check the video on my imac, it looks perfectly fine.
Crisp colors, smooth animation…
when I check it on my ipad, it looks really bad… colors are off, it doesn't run smood…
I really hope someone can help me out here.
You need to read up on color management and which devices support which options. Generally mobile devices are unmanaged and thus any fancy color corrections you may use on your stationary computer will go for nothing. Additionally of course you are creating a compressed H.264 file that uses all kinds of tricks, so in a technical sense colors will always be slightly off even on your iMac compared to the original source files. The performance issue may depend on the data rate, so check the advanced options of the preset and use lower rates.
