Hey. I have a project with a flash fallback. I need to create an animation that shows the user where to click. I created a simple circle in illustrator with a 3px stroke and tranparent fill. I inserted that into my project in animate, added a preset motion and exported as an swf. The problem that I am running into is that only the stroke of the image is clickable, the transparent parts of the swf, are not able to be clicked. What should I do to allow it to be clickable. I tried converting it to a button, but that didnt work. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
The simplest solution is to put the circle under the object that you want to click on. If that's not possible, recreate the circle in Flash with no fill. A third is to set the circle as a movieClip symbol, give it an instance name and then declare the mouseEnabled property of that circle as false. Then the mouse event, the click will pass through it to the object underneath.
circleObject.mouseEnabled = false;
If all you did is change the instance type to Button, of course that won't work. You have to make a proper button with a Hit frame determining what areas you want to be clickable.
