could be a bug, yes. I cannot test this since I have not Numbers installed.
What did you select before pasting?
A single cell, a couple of cells?
What would happen, if you had nothing selected on the InDesign page?
Would there be a table with 5 cells in one column pasted to InDesign (and you did only select 4 cells in Numbers) ?
So you need one or two intermediate steps.
A. Numbers => TextEdit + remove the return => InDesign table
B. Numbers => InDesign (new text frame created by pasting without selecting anything) => table
Or an empty cell above the one you like to target.
Select that one and paste…
Yer not really an option Im afraid, the documents I cut and paste from have a load of tables in that need pasting into from the spreadsheets, an intermediate step would be extra hassle. Just have to stick with Excel (im having to use the trial version for now, didn't really want to buy it though seeings as I have Numbers, which appears bugged).
Thanks anyway though
How about OpenOffice?
Yer I did look into it, wasn't really into it.
