My computer is configured in a way that it displays my desktop on my laptop's screen, but I use an external screen to use Lightroom and most of my software.
With Lightroom, I experience a very annoying bug in the maps module in this configuration. The display is totally buggy: a black band is displayed at the top, and when dropping images to a location I can see that they're not attached to where I dropped them.
I did not find any way to make it work on my external screen.
At least four others have reported these symptoms. See this bug report in the official Adobe feedback forum: Black bar in Lightroom CC maps module and misplaced photos while geotagging on secondary monitor | Photoshop Family Cust… Even though an Adobe employee started engaging one of the posters, the person never replied. So I suggest that you add a complete report of your issue to that bug report, including the exact version of LR (not "the latest" -- do Help > System Info) and your version of Mac or Windows.
In addition, there are two troubleshooting steps you can take:
- Uncheck the option Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor. Thought that normally is supposed to affect the Develop module only, it infrequently solves issues elsewhere.
- If you are on Windows, make sure you have the latest graphics drivers directly from the manufacturer's Web site.
Add the results of those two steps to your post in the bug report.
Thanks for your help.
I checked with the Graphic processor acceleration unchecked, but I still had the issue.
I posted both info in the bug report.
