I've read several posts with this same observation. None of the recommended fixes work for me.
If I plug the camera into my computer, LR cc2015 does not recognize the camera as a source from which to download.
Play Memories from Sony does recognize the camera, and allows downloads of pictures with .acr extension (Sony proprietary camera raw).
If I just load Play Memories, and it offers to import the camera files, I can then import via Lightroom import feature without importing via Play Memories.
Is this problem community wide, or specific to my computer. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
You're better using a card reader rather than connecting directly to the camera, you usually get a faster transfer and is more reliable.
You sometimes the the camera has to be in a certain setting to transfer to the computer, with the photos on the computer being able to be imported, would point to the card reader being the solution.
Have you installed any updates since you first installed Lightroom CC? The camera wasn't supported in the original release of Lightroom CC 2015. You need at least 2015.1, and the current release is 2015.5. Check your Help/About Lightroom and verify the exact version you are running.
