          Zealouse,

          Learn about masking.

You can create a vector path over your bitmap, select both the path and
the bitmap then go to Modify > Mask > Group as Mask.

In FW8 tthere is a new feature that allows you to convert a marquee to a
path as well. This tutorial talks about removing a bitmap background and
          should help you.

You can, but you need to do two things first.

            1. Use the button as a pattern fill of a like sized vector object. If it
is a rectangle, be sure you ungroup it before adding the button as pattern.

            2. Convert the text to paths, ungroup it, and then join it (Modify >
Combine paths > Join) before punching it through the vector object.
