Hi, is there a (well hidden?) function in ACR to mirror RAW-images? I found nothing...
But you can mirror images in LR and ACR will display those images correctly mirrored! So ACR can read the arguments in the XML-sidecars. But - I think - there is no option for it in ACR?
Is there a chance to add this functionality to ACR?
I think the answer to whether Camera Raw has the Flip Horizontal function is No, because Camera Raw is a plug-in to Photoshop and you can do the Flip in PS.
There are rotation arrows in ACR because you may need to correct for your camera’s orientation but regular cameras don’t take mirror-image photos so you shouldn’t need to correct for that. Of course selfie-cameras do take mirror image photos, but ACR’s functions weren’t designed so recently as to have that as a consideration.
I think this is not the answer. You can manipulate a lot in ACR and PS the same way!
The tag by the way is "tiff:Orientation=". LR simply writes this tag and ACR can read tag from the XML and display the picture accordingly.
