    Load a Movie into a Loaded Movie?

    davidlieb Level 1
      Okay, so I've got movie1. I loaded movie2 into movie1 using loadMovie. That works fine.

      I loaded movie3 into movie2, also using loadMovie. That works fine when I preview movie2, but when I preview movie1, movie3 doesn't load.

      How can I load a movie into a loaded movie? I don't want to replace the movie, I want to load into it.

      They're all in the same folder.

      I'm using a movie clip placement marker instead of levels.

      Help!!!

          if you don't want to replace movie2 you'll need to create a target movieclip in movie1 and load into that target. create your target movieclip after loading of movie2 is complete.

            They're already using different target movie clips. I'm actually nesting movie2 inside of movie1, and movie3 inside of movie2.

            The path I'm using to load movie2 into movie1 is:
            loadMovie( "movie2.swf", occ_marker);

            The path for movie3--which is loading inside of movie 2--is:

            loadMovie( "movie3.swf", image_marker);

            Again, they work when loaded seperatly, but not when played from movie 1... They're all in the same folder...

              //main container
              _root.createEmptyMovieClip("my_mc",1);

              //1st movie
              _root.my_mc.createEmptyMovieClip("movie_mc",0);
              _root.my_mc.createEmptyMovieClip("top_mc",1);

              //2nd movie
              _root.my_mc.top_mc.createEmptyMovieClip("movie_mc",0);
              _root.my_mc.top_mc.createEmptyMovieClip("top_mc",1);

              //3rd movie
              _root.my_mc.top_mc.top_mc.createEmptyMovieClip("movie_mc",0);

              //loading movie1
              loadMovie("movie1.swf", my_mc.movie_mc);

              //loading movie2
              loadMovie("movie2.swf", my_mc.top_mc.movie_mc);

              //loading movie3
              loadMovie("movie3.swf", my_mc.top_mc.top_mc.movie_mc);

              now you have movie3 on top of movie2 on top of movie1 and all 3 movies are in a single mc

                I think that

                _root.
                this.
                _parent.

                helps.
