These are my settings; I want the one on the left as page one, the one on the right as page two. Luckily my printer works with my school on projects a lot so he was understanding and did a custom job with page 4 as the front and 3 as the back. But it would be nice to know what's wrong for future reference.
I see it. All of the text and graphics are on the master pages (intended for repeating information like running heads). Here is the fix:
- Save the file first, then
- Navigate to A-Master
- Use the Selection tool (black arrow) to draw a box around everything on the right master page to select it
- Edit > Cut
- Navigate to page 1
- Edit > Paste in Place
Repeat for the left master, and Paste in Place on page 2.
Looking ahead, use the Body pages (pages 1–9999) for your content, and reserve the Master pages (default names are A-Master, B-Master, etc) for repeating information like running heads, page numbers, and repeating graphics. Adding something to the A-Master will automatically make it appear on all of the Body pages, until you tell them to do something different, which is awesome for say, a footer, that should repeat on the bottom of every page of a multi-page doc.
