I have a designer using InDesign CC and an Editor using InCopy CC. The designer is using the Mac public folders to share the InCopy files with the editor. She can see the folders but cannot access them. The base permissions InDesign is using to create the folders is Read. Once they are manually changed to Read & Write, the files work. How can I make InDesign create the folders and files with Everyone - Read & Write? Thanks!
I don't have a specific answer here because I do not use Mac public folders, but since no one is biting... have you considered setting up your project folder on a shared network drive or on Dropbox? If for some reason neither of those work in your environment, you can always use a remote workflow by selecting Package for InCopy & Email from the Assignments panel menu in InDesign. When she's finished, she can select Return for InDesign & Email from her Assignments panel menu in InCopy.
I believe the permissions for new folders are inheriting the permissions of the parent folder. Have you tried creating a new folder via the Finder to see if it has the same permissions? Who is the owner when you allow InDesign to create the folder?
