But are you sure the class needs to go there? Doesn't the tutorial want you to add a classpath?
the exact wording is:
"To use the custom class, copy the Drawing Utilities.as file from the web site to a directory in your global Flash classpath."
so I took it to mean there was already a path to copy it to.
also can this be done in MX 2004?
Then it's correct. But I wouldn't put it there. Just put the class in the same directory as your fla (called a 'document relative classpath') and you can use the class.
Maybe it's just a personal preference but I like to keep the distribution clean and put custom classes either relative to the document (in packages if applicable) or I create another class path (dynamic class libs).
Yes, you can do that with MX2004.
