I would like to use the numbers footnotes provide (sequential and automatically change when you add another footnote) but I don't want the footnote. I want to put in chapter notes.
Is there an easy way to do this in InDesign? I would rather not have to go through and hand number all of these in superscript manually and reorder them as necessary.
Are you asking about endnotes? They appear as a list at the end of the chapter.
InDesign does not support endnotes, but there is a free script from Peter Kahrel that will do it for you: Convert footnotes to endnotes | Peter Kahrel .
Here is a short tutorial on how it works from Anne-Marie Concepción at InDesign Secrets: InDesign tutorial: Convert footnotes to endnotes with one easy script | lynda.com - YouTube .
