the easiest way would be to fake it. Without using the footnote feature at all.
But this is only a "solution", if this *-footnote is a single incident.
For a way to go about this, if two footnote systems should be in place, see Obi Wan's comments and solutions in this thread:
you could leave all the footnotes as they are.
Then:- If the footnote 1 is on the same page as asterisk well you can insert one paragraph return before the footnote 1 and type in asterisk and the relative text;
- if the footnote 1 isn't on the first page, well you can insert one text box at the bottom of the page with asterisk and the relative text.

I tried doing what you say but then there is no footnote 1.
It became the asterisk and so it then continues to footnote 2.
I looks like a botch if the footnotes go from 2 - 15 rather than 1 -15.
Just delete your first footnote on the title. Then all your footnotes will be renumerate . Then go ahead as described in the previous post
