Finding ADE for assigning as default in Windows 10

I had to re-install Adobe Digital Editions on my desktop as part of an on-going saga with OverDrive to be able to download library books on multiple platforms.

Now .ASCM and .EPUB do not show ADE as an option for setting defaults in File Explorer.

ADE does, however, allow Adding .EPUB books that are already present - I just cannot initiate ADE by clicking on the file's listing outside of ADE - or by Executing the .ASCM from my public library.

What (is/are) the error(s) of my ways?
