    EdgeAnimate.exe crashing with Application Error(s)

    TheGMan1972

      Hi All,

Apologies in advance if this is a bit vague. I'm the IT Support for our company who, unfortunately, doesn't have the Adobe software but is responsible for trying to solve problems issues with it.

Anyway, one of our users has advised me that they are having repeated crashes in the Adobe Edge Animate CC 2015 software. They have advised me that they are following an 'in-built' tutorial on using the software and the crash occurs when trying to copy a layer style and apply it to another layer.

Have tried renaming the 'Adobe Edge Animate' folder in their roaming profile to 'old Adobe Edge Animate' - which created a new folder & I believe reset their Adobe Edge Animate preferences - however, the problem still persists. I've not tried the CTRL/SHIFT & ALT before opening Edge Animate as I presume renaming the folder does exactly the same thing?

Have checked event viewer on the PC and can see quite a few 'Application Errors' such as:-

The problem can also be recreated by another user on another workstation using Adobe Edge Animate CC 2015.

The machines are Windows 7 Professional x64-based with 8GB and dual screens.

I can see there's no update available as Adobe Edge Animate has been discontinued in favour of Adobe Animate CC. Has anyone come across any similar problems with Edge Animate and if so were you able to fix it? Happy to supply more tech info if needed - just advise what you need to know and I'll try to oblige

      TIA
