Problems tethering Nikon D7100 using Lightroom 5.7.1

I've tried everything but can't seem to get my Nikon D7100 to tether with Lightroom 5.7.1.

According to Adobe's list of cameras that can be tethered to Lightroom (https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/tethered-camera-support.html), any version above Lightroom 5.2 should tether with the D7100.  (I am using 5.7.1 so I thought it should be fine.)

I’ve done the software updates, firmware updates, uninstalled and reinstalled but still I get the “no camera detected” message.

Just as a test to make sure that the problem was not related to a defect in the camera or cable,  I tried tethering the camera using Nikon’s Camera Control Pro 2 and while the software doesn’t suit my needs in the same way that Lightroom does… it did recognize that camera and tethering worked fine.

I'd really like to be able to use my Nikon D7100 along with my Lightroom 5.7.1 software and would be grateful for any assistance you could provide.
