If you are running LR CC or 6, make sure you have updated to the newest version. If you already have updated, go into your Preferences->Performance and uncheck the graphics processor option you see there. Brushes is the one thing that tends to be slowed down by having the GPU acceleration turned on.
Are you using Windows or Mac?
These brush lags are mostly seen in cases of Mac OS, so if the above suggestion by Jao Van de does not help you out.
Could you try to reboot the machine in safe boot and check if the issue persists in Lightroom.
The more you brush a given photo, the more lag you will have. This is an unfortunate known problem in Lightroom.
The alternatives are:
- Turn off the Graphics acceleration
- Do the brushing as the next to last editing step, and the last editing step is to turn on Lens Corrections.
- Do brushing in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements
- Get a faster CPU (the fastest CPU you can afford)
Everything is updated and I have had the GPU disabled. While disabling the GPU has made a noticeable improvement, the lag does persist in many different scenarios. Thanks for the feedback.
I use a PC
Great suggestions, but I'm afraid I have tried all of these. Beginning to worry fixing this is out of my control, but I'm positive it can be improved somehow in my current state.
Yes, of course, fixing it is out of your control, only Adobe can fix this by reprogramming this function, and it won't happen in version 6.
