Make sure AE and Bridge are up do date. If you really want to preview your presets then use Bridge, but if you have problems applying them apply them from the Effects and Presets Panel in AE.
All my CC apps are up to date. And sorry if I wasn't completely clear in my description of the problem. I can see the animation text presets in Bridge alright. What I meant when I said 'preview' was the preview pane in AE. There should be a sample Adobe text in the preview pane (that's probably the wrong name for this panel), but all I see in the pane is the red bar/cursor you can see in my screenshot. When I drag the head along the timeline the text should start animating in this pane, but nothing happens!
It looks to me like you did not add any text to the text layer. To see if any animators were added to the text layer select the layer with the selection tool (v) and then press the U key twice to see if anything has been modified on the layer. That's the first thing you should always do when a layer is not behaving as you think it should. If there are animators and nothing is showing then there is no source text in the layer.
Whenever you are having problems with any layer in AE and you want to get help on any forum it's a good idea to show all modified properties of the layer in the screenshot. The only thing I can see in your text layer is that there is no source text.
