PDF has rich black and no bleed...

I received a PDF with Rich Black background and no bleed.

However, when I place it in InDesign and add the rich black background, it looks great in InDesign.I  then exported it to PDF. PDFX4 2008 - and low and behold the values of the black changed. I re-examined the PDF and found out it was in US Web Coated SWOP 2.

I then assigned that profile in InDesign - and exported again to PDFX4 2008. The rich black was closer but not a match.

What do I have to do to get InDesign to spit out the PDF without converting the black to another formula?
