Apply Fractal Noise to your particle layer as the first effect in the layer stack.
Apply Colorama as the second effect.
With CC Particle world as the third and last effect, set your CC Particle World color map to Origin Constant. RAINBOW PARTICLES! You can adjust colors in Colorama to get the colors you want. Or, heck, use any other method you would like to create your colors this was just to show you how to do it.
Thanks a lot, this works really good with one of the preset particles in Particle World.
But (my fault, I forgot to tell) I have a custom particle. So I chose Texured Quadpolygon and than chose my custom particle layer in Texture Layer.
The strange thing is, that your solution doesn't work combined with these settings.
Any idea why?
Thanks again for your answer!
Because choosing textured quad poly means it's pulling its texture from the layer you've pointed it to. So, in your particle source precomp make the color of the particle change rapidly and set the texture time to be "Birth".
Very well explained, thank you very much for this.
