Is it possible to animate a filter from Photoshop (Cutout Filter) in After Effects?
What I mean is I put the Cutout Filter on top of a still picture. But I want to animate that cutout filter over a 5 or 10 second period so it covers the photograph over time.
Is that possible?
Do I have to get the latest After Effects to do that?
PS CS 6
After Effects CS 5
Like a animated change of transparency from the normal pic to the cut out version? So easy to do. Maybe a change in different strengths of the cut out filter? Also easy but more time consuming. Just make 15 divisions of the Cut Out filter for every second of screen time. And play back at the frame rate for your final export.
I just looked in photoshop and there is no way to change transparency in the cutout filter. it's either on or off.
The change is easiest in AE. You could do it in PS in the animation panel by stacking the before and after images, but that would take much longer. Super basic in AE.
