HELP!!! I recently backed up my entire laptop to an external drive (planning to do the same to Backblaze soon). I then deleted, what I thought were just my back up LR files on said laptop. Turns out- not the case. Now files gone. Trash on Laptop deleted. How do I move my LR catalog back into LR cc. I'm on a Mac. Any advice much appreciated. Thank you~Cory Lutton
Hi Cory, the catalog is usually in the default location – Pictures folder. Inside the catalog folder you should see a file ending .lrcat
Double-clicking (control-click) on the .lrcat file will usually launch it. Otherwise use your last catalog backup. Unzip the folder to find the .lrcat file.
You would then need to re-connect the catlog links with your photo files. The link below gives details of how to copy your images and “Update folder Location” in the LR Library.
If it is just the catalog and associated files deleted just copy them back from your back up to Pictures and double click the .lrcat file to open it and Lightroom.
