Hi kentmcpherson ,
Click the comments notification (yellow badge) on the collection or a photo thumbnail (in Grid (G) or Loupe (E) view). The comments are displayed in the Comments panel.
For more information refer Share photos for comments and feedback in Lightroom
I see no yellow badges anywhere. And I assume this is just for photos that have been shared in LR Mobile correct? What if you delete those collections when they maybe had comments? Not sure what is going on.
Yellow badges are for images with unread comments.
To review an image comment simply click the Comments section (on Desktop),Click the comments icon (on Mobile).

Deleting the image from collection on your mobile(for an image stored on desktop) ,will not delete the comment from desktop and will keep it synced.
Keep in mind that Deleting a comment itself is an action that cannot be undone.
I am coming back to this topic that I started over a year ago. LR now tells me I have 124 unread comments when I start it up and I see no comments icon anywhere. I scanned all my photos in collections and looked at the Comments panel. They all say 0 comments. So do my collections published on SmugMug which is the only other place I can think where I allow comments. What gives? How to figure this one out?
I installed the plugin and created a Smart Collection where the Comment Text was not empty and it had 0 photos in it. I have no clue where this 124 Unread Comments is coming from.

It's possible that the 124 unread comments are actually likes . To quickly rule determine that:
1. Do Library > Plug-in Extras > Any Comment > Refresh Comments And Likes.
2. Select All Photographs.
3. In the Library Filter bar's Metadata browser, select the "Last Like/Comment Date" column:
If that doesn't identify the 124 photos, then it must be an inconsistency in your catalog (i.e. a bug).
