Hi drive ,
What size is your catalog?
Make sure you have enough space available on your Primary Harddrive.
Also check where are you importing the images.Ensure you have Read/write permissions of the destination.
thanks for your reply.
My Catalog is 330 MB and i have 200GB free on HDD.
How can i check the permission for the destination? I'm using a Macbook with OSX
I changed the destination to my download folder and the import is ok.
Usually i imported the photos on my external HDD and it has 700GB free.
How can i check the permission for read and write to external HDD?
I'm using a MAC computer and the problem is than another Catalog (created for test) can write without problems inside the same HDD (formatted with a MAC Filesystems) and the same folders. Only my original catalog can't write.
Your first message indicated that the import process doesn't start. Now you are saying the problem is that you can't write to a specific folder. Which is it? Can you show us a screen capture of the problem?
Regarding your description that the import process doesn't start, how far does it get exactly? What happens properly, and what doesn't happen after that?
My problem is that i can't insert new photos in my catalog (copying or moving the original foto in usual HDD and folder). i tried to change destination folder (in the same external HDD) and all photos are imported. So the problem is not the catalog but the destination folder for the original photos.
But there are no error messages? That is odd.
What happens if you use your operating system to copy the photos to the desired folder on the external HD and then in Lightroom try to import using ADD?
No, nothing errors on screen, only import in progress (also for 4-5 hours without progress).
I will post on next days for the test suggested...
