Unable to authorize adobe digital edition 4.5 on Mac

Hello i just downloaded ADOBE digital edition 4.5, i have an an ADOBE ID and this is the first time i tried to authorize it but my MAC keeps on crashing on me. Please help I have to use ADOBE in order to access content for a class. thanks

	quit Adobe Digital Editions.
	Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash.
	If you are using 10.7, see https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/access-hidden-user-library-files.html
	Open Adobe Digital Editions and reauthorize.
