    Getting Buttons to Play Sounds

    brianosauras
I am a flash newb that needs help getting sounds to work on buttons for a very simple soundboard I am trying to have fun with.

Since this is my first time using flash, I'll state what I did so I can be informed what I am doing incorrectly or just leaving out altogether.

      1) Made new flash document (control + n)
      2) Made text (t) & Rectangeled (r) a box around text
      3) Selected (v) box with text
      4) Did Convert to Symbol (f8) > type="button" > clicked "OK"
      5) New Button displayed in Library pane
      6) Selected new button (double clicked, button now covered with dots)
      7) Right Clicked on "Down" frame & clicked "Keyframe" from drop down menu
      8) Dragged previously imported .wav from Library pane to the Stage
      9) Blue audio line is displayed in the 'down frame'

This is where I am stuck. When I publish preview or publish, I am unable to click and play the sound; or even to get the cursor to change from an arrow to a pointing hand when placed over the button. I don't think I am finishing the button correctly. What do I specifically need to do after #9 where I see the blue audio line is displayed in the 'down frame'.

      Thanks for the help.

i guess in the first step there is a problem already:
          make text static not dynamic.
