I have a comp which is a table top with some polaroids scattered across it. Each polaroid is a separate layer (I imported a PSD where every polaroid was on a different layer).
I want to use a particle system to "blow" these polaroids onto the table top so they end up in their start position (so a reverse particle explosion I guess) and then blow them away again. All I can see from the particle system I have on hand (Particular, Shatter etc) is that you can set one layer or sprite as a particle. How do I assign a bunch of different layers as individual particles?
In case of Particular you would put them sequentially in a pre-comp and use the various clip sampling options for sprites/ textured polygons, referencing the pre-comp.Doesn't solve your problem, though. If you want stuff to end up in specific places you have to hand-animate. Particular simply doesn't work this way.
if you have your layers already sitting where you want them, it'd be much easier to animate them by hand.
